In order to provide meaningful advertising content and to monitor advertising traffic, our advertising partners will collect certain information to create a consumer profile that is used to customize, streamline and track advertising content to you. The location information that we request while you are using the app is required for core application functionality where your location is used to obtain the altitude and temperature outside. The application requires altitude and temperature values to reduce the barometric pressure measured by your device to mean sea level pressure (MSLP). MSLP is the barometric pressure value that is shown on weather maps and is the most useful atmospheric pressure value for predicting and monitoring weather conditions on a mobile device. The location information that is collected while you are using the app may also be shared with our advertising partners to be used to deliver meaningful advertising content.
File access is required in order to store atmospheric pressure records made with the app in your device's file system. No information that can directly personally identify you is transmitted to Disciple Skies Software or our advertising partners by the application. In some cases, the information collected can be used to infer a person's identity. Though such inferences are not carried out by DS Software, a legal action by a court could require us to divulge collected information which could then be used by legal and law enforcement agencies to identify you personally.
If you choose to use the application's background atmospheric pressure monitoring feature, the application will have access to your location in the background (when the app is not visible). Location information obtained this way is used only for determining the temperature and altitude for the calculation of mean sea level pressure from the device's barometric sensor and is not used for any other purpose.
